In a time of computer-generated artwork, my illustration stands out as having a refreshing hand-painted quality, meticulously executed in several different mediums and styles. I love to work with the organic spontaneity of watercolour, the accuracy of gouache, the unique characteristics of pen and ink and the descriptive freedom of pencil.

 

As a versatile illustrator of many years experience, most of my work has been in the publishing field in areas including medical, botanical, general reference and childrens books. 

 

Each of the areas I work in has its own special requirements which I have always taken care and pleasure in addressing, from the accuracy and clarity demanded of medical illustration to the creative joy inherent in children's books.
